Full text of P.P.  Sarsanghchalakji's address:- The Sangh-Ganga that started flowing with the efforts of P.P.  Dr.  Hedgewar in Nagpur in 1925 with a mission to organise Hindu society has completed 75 years of activity awakening the Bharatiyas from their centuries long slumber.  This Sangh Ganga has not only reached all states; districts or tehsils, beyond that all development blocks and to many more villages but has also reached Hindus in 35 Countries.  This has created awareness about their cultural and traditional roots and organising them to face the problems and assaults on their culture.  I had an opportunity to travel to Caribbean countries where a World Hindu Conference was organised and the theme of the Conference reflected the thinking of the Hindus in that part of the world- "Aatmano Mokshartham jagad Hitaya Cha".  Achieving personal Moksha while working for the welfare of the world.  These two terms are perfectly relative, as Hindus believe that Atma is in cordial and harmonious relationship with Vishwatma.  The basic difference between Jeevatma and Vishwatma is that Jeevatma is under the veil of ignorance and believes in constricted life while Vishwatma is all pervading and ubiquitous.  As the Jeevatma gets enlightened and leaves the constrictions, he attains harmony with Vishwatma, thus becoming aware of his unity with Parivar, Samaaj, Rashtra, Humanity and Prakriti.  This Jeevan yatra from Vyakti Parivar to Vishwa Parivar is rightly expressed - Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

The World Hindu Conference in Trinidad, in which representatives from 20 countries participated, was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Shri Basdeo Pande.  In the inaugural function itself, a videocassette was displayed showing him chanting Hanuman chalisa before an audience of 40 thousand.  Ram Charitmanas and Hanuman Chalisa distinct significance for Hindus living in those countries.  Their ancestors were taken to those countries some 150 years ago and were forced to live in inhuman conditions facing enormous difficulties.

However, they have stuck to their tradition and culture based on those scriptures.  Since then, Hindus in those countries have toiled hard for the respective countries enriching them economically and socially.  In the process, they have reached the topmost social, political and administrative positions in countries like Trinidad, Surinam, Guyana, etc.  However, Hindus in those countries are exposed to problems because of the disunited society and self-centered motives.  Fiji is the most recent glaring example.

Social unity is the prerequisite for a stable society and a disunited society will be exploited by the forces that are.  Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh has been established outside Bharat in many countries to bring unity among Hindus living in those countries.  Presently Surinam has 11, Guyana 4 and Trinidad 18 Shakhas.  IN USA 60 in UK 70 shakhas are being organised.  Apart from this, some other organisations like Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Sewa International-IDRF, Hindu Marathon, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Friends of India Society International, are also actively working in many countries.  Other Hindu organisations like Ramakrishna Mission, Arya Samaj, Shri Swaminarayan Sampraday, Gayatri Parivar, ISCON, Maharshi Mahesh Yogi, and many other organisations are working for Hinduism abroad.  Sarvashri Murari Bapu, Ashram Bapu, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Swami Satyamitranand, Swami Satyanand, our Chair today Dr.  Pranav Pandya and many others frequently go on foreign tours.

Bharat is the inspiration for all the Hindus in other countries.  A self confident, self reliant and powerful Bharat will boost the moral of Hindus all over the world.  Developments in Bharat like the nuclear tests, satellites, missile technology, super computer and cryogenic engines, have extended happiness and satisfaction to Hindus in other countries.

Bharat is the only country that gives intimacy as well as support to Hindus whenever they are in distress.  P.  P.  Guruji was asked in a press conference, "whether Bharat is only for the Hindus?" "Only Bharat stands for Hindus," was his emphatic answer.  Thus, Hindus are responsible for the developed, prosperous, and powerful Bharat.  RSS is working for realisation of this since last 75 years.

Every Swayamsevak has to take a Pratigya that "I have become a part of Sangh to protect Hindu Dharma, Hindu Samskriti and Hindu Samaaj and to work for the all round development of Hindu Rashtra".  Many political leaders and parties talk of the all round development of Bharat.  But, Sangh has set the condition precedent that Hindu Dharma, Hindu Samskriti and Hindu Samaaj are to be protected.  If some Arabian country proposes that they would develop Hindusthan provided everybody in Bharat accepts Islam, we shall never accept it.  IF some other country offers to develop Bharat on the condition that she should become Christian, we shall not accept it.  Bharat is Hindu, it shall remain Hindu and the development of this country will be based on Hindu ethics.  This is what we believe in and we will act accordingly.

Since last 50 years a particular section belonging to Macaulayist and Marxist had opposed every national effort.  They keep on abusing any Hindu awakening as communal adjoining some selected adjectives with them.  One of my friends in Lucknow had proposed that we should also follow suit by using, such epithets.  Long pondering did not produce any results.  However, a follower of Lohia from Varanasi, who is about to publish a book, has rightly named them "Eurandpanthi" meaning "Euroindian".

The misinformation spread by the British to create differences on caste-class-language lines With the ulterior motive of ruling this country- a land of unity in diversity, is being used by this class effectively.  A Hindu from all the states of Bharat used to proudly tell that he is a Hindu till 1867.  An Urdu book published from Lucknow then mentions that "four Hindus visited Mecca for offering Sijda".  The visitors from Hindusthan were Indian Muslims known as Hindus in there.  After the war of 1857, British had tried to divide the society in all possible ways by spreading misinformation like:

1.  Hindu is a religion like Islam and Christianity.  They did not have a word parallel to Dharma in their languages, in fact.  Dharma is a binding force for a society and does not represent any communal thought.  However, the textbooks in Bharat even now define Hindu as communal.

2.  Secondly, Hindu had been a slave always and Muslims were the rulers and were named so by the Muslim invaders.  Persian ruler Derius had used the word Hindu in his inscription some 2500 years ago.

3.  Thirdly, the famous Aryan invasion theory.  This theory has generated many other divisive theories like Dalit- Savarna, Adivasi- non Adivasi, Brahmin- non-Brahmin, Arya- Dravid, and many more.  But, in recent past, many scholars have proved the Aryan invasion a myth.  Two European scholars have used the modern DNA tests to prove that the DNA of natives of Europe and natives of Bharat does not have anything in common.

A simple mention of a sentence that, "Modern research has proved that the theory is controversial", has raised a storm.  The Eurondpanthi scholars are and their colleagues are shouting at the top of their voice that this is saffronisation.  The same people were forcing their "communal secularism" for last 45 years on all institutions of Bharat.

4.  Fourthly, Hindusthan was called 'a sub-continent because it was never a Rashtra.  It was stated that "we are a nation in the making".  Atharva Veda describes the evolution of a Rashtra in details.  The scholars of this land had very clear concepts about Rashtra.

5.  Fifthly, the Hindutva as professed by Sangh is anti Muslim, anti Christian.  Till now, Sangh was painted as anti Muslim but since last two years, Sangh is picturised as anti Christian all over the world.  Most of the incidents mentioned for this propaganda were false or cooked up whether it is in Rajkot, Vayanad in Kerala, Illahabad in UP, proclaimed rape of a nun in Bihar, Jhabua in Madhya Pradesh.  A communal Muslim organisation- Deendar Anjuman- was responsible for the blasts in Churches in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.  However, the secular press did not have the courtesy even to regret that they had accused and blamed Sangh for all these blasts.

Both Islam and Christianity differentiate between the believers and the non-believers.  Those who do not practice Christianity are called Heathens and those who do not practice Islam are called kafirs.  1000 representatives from different religions and nations attended the Millenium Peach Meet of Religious leaders at the UNO.  The Meet resolved to end the conflicts all over the world based on the famous Hindu principle "Ekam Sat Vipra Bahudha Vadanti" as this would lead to peace in the conflict torn world.  However, even before the ink has dried up, a Bishops Conference of Vatican published a 36page statement saying that Christianity is the only real religion.  In the press conference, Bishop Cardinal Joseph Ratjinger stated that treating all religions as equal is "the end of the tolerance" for them.  But, in the same breath he also mentioned that "this does not mean that they have any disrespect to other religions."

It is very nice of Pope that he has exposed his mind.  This will bare the reality hidden behind the white robes of the Roman Catholic bishops.  Till 12th October 1999, the Missionaries used to take a secret oath that is anti Bharat.  "I take an oath and declare that whenever I get a chance, I would directly or indirectly fight a decisive war with the non believers, Protestants, and see their end as per the gospels of the Church," is the beginning sentence of the oath.

World Council of Churches held in Delhi in 1961 in its third Conference produced a rejoinder to the "freedom of religion" definition.  The rejoinder, which goes a step further of the definition in our Constitution even gives freedom to interfere in the national or international politics as the opportunity, arises.

The Baptist Mission inspired militancy in Tripura has forced the non-tribal population of Tripura to leave the state.  This is nothing less than the ethnic cleansing as the terrorists have opposed and banned the usage of any Hindu symbols like Tilak or Bindi, Durga Pooja, etc, 4 Sangh Karyakartas have been abducted by the militants inspired by the mission.  They were behind the murder of Gurudeo Shantikali and burning of a Tribal boy's hostel run by the VHP.  They want to carve out an independent nation of hilly districts of Tripura.  Govt.  of Bharat and Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram participated in the UNs "Conference on Rights of Indigenous People".  Bharat's stand at the conference was that Bharat does not have any "Indigenous People" but has "Indigenous population".  All the tribes in Bharat are a part of Hindu society but the Church is conspiring, to separate them.

Mahatma Gandhi wrote in 'Harijan' on 7th January 1939- "If You believe that you are the only people who can listen to the melancholy of the people wandering in the dark, then I believe that you have no place in Hindusthan."

98% Muslims of Bharat have not come from any other country.  Only a few invaders had come from outside.  Religion has changed.  Change of religion does not change the motherland nor does it change - the ancestors.  Countries like Turkey, Iran, Indonesia, have neither changed their motherland nor their ancestors.  They even celebrate the festivals that are pre-Islam.  However, certain things have not worked out well in Bharat.  Mullah Maulavi class in Bharat has not allowed the common Muslim to be nationalist or follow the tradition.  Instead of pride in the ancestry of Shri Rama, Shri Krishna, the Mullahs want the Muslims to be linked to the invaders like Gaznavi, Taimurlang, Babar, Aurangzeb, etc.

Demolition of the Babari structure on 6th December 1992 was the result of this psyche.  Shia leader Prince Anjum had accepted the offer of Hindus to replace to structure to different site.  A Hindu had offered his large land for the purpose.  But the self-proclaimed champion of Muslims in Bharat Syed Shahabuddin wrote a letter on 4th July 1987 to Prince Anjum opposing the proposal.  Sangh, VHP, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena, were blamed for the demolition of the structure.  I chanced, upon reading a letter addressed to the then Prime Minister by a Congress leader from Maharashtra.  The letter clearly mentions that "the kitchen cabinet" of Narsimha Rao had "involvement in the demolition of the structure though Bajarang Dal and Shiv Sena might also be involved to some extent".  The opinion of the educated Muslims in Bharat does not agree with the opinion of the Mullahs being aware of the fact that the Muslims of other countries would not accept them.  Why were the 22000 Bangladeshi Muslims deported for UAE? The Muhajirs from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, who played a crucial role in the formation of Pakistan are now second class citizens in Pakistan and are facing the atrocities.  President of Quami Muhajir Movement, Altaf Hussain, who is presently in UK for security reasons, stated the other day that, "creation of Pakistan is a historical blunder." Baluch, Pakhtoon, and Sindhi leaders attended the meeting in Action Townhall in London.  The Baluch leader Sardar Ataullah was elected as the common leader of the group and while addressing the gathering he said, "I do not believe that Pakistan can be saved.  We will have to fight for the big Azaadi if we are not awarded our rights." Will Bharat have to replay a role it had played during the creation of Bangladesh?

The concept of common Islami Millat has proved to be futile.  Muslims in Bharat will have to Indianise Islam.  Muslim in Bharat will then be a part of the common heritage.  Pt.  Jawaharlal Nehru, soon after the tragedy of partition, while addressing the convocation ceremony of Aligarh Muslim University, had said the same thing.  "I am proud of my ancestors and tradition that has awarded me the great culture and tradition.  You are Muslims and I am Hindu.  We practice different religions, or we might not believe in any religion, but we have a common tradition to which you have as much of right as I have."

If Muslims in Indonesia accept Rama and Krishna as their ancestors, Ramayana and Mahabharat as their scriptures, believe in the piety of Gangajala, name their children as Sukarno, Suhrid, Meghavati, Lakshmi, Sarasvati; install the Geeta Sandesh in their squares even when he is a Muslim, why should not Muslims of Bharat work out such a thing? Recently, Indonesia has printed the picture of Ganesh on their currency.  The Eurandpanthis will create a hubbub if this is done in Bharat.

ISI of Pakistan is spreading its fangs in Bharat and is proving disruptive.  The arms and ammunition being smuggled in Bharat by the agency is enormous.  Nationalist Muslims of Bharat should keep a watch on the activities of their agents like any common Bharatiya.  The Jehadis does not have any love for Islam.  The other day, some Jehadis in Dodda District of Jammu, pierced the eyes of Muslim youth and blinded them.  Why were they punished? They were innocent.  Just because the villagers refused to send the youth to their training camp! All the villagers were beaten black and blue after tying their hands up.

However, the Eurandpanthi Human Rights organisations did not see any Human Rights violation in this incident.  The traitors in this country only have the Human Rights according to the Eurandpanthi.  In Sanskrit these characters are known as Arinandan, one who regale the enemy.  Bharat has lost many wars because of the Arinandans.  Society should be aware of them.

Another invasion is in the offing these days and that is economic invasion.  This system has three preconditions, namely, 1.  Sufficient capital.  2.  Availability of raw material at cheap rates & 3.  Ready market for the finished goods.  All the western powers have used their colonies towards this end making the colonies poorer.  The state of affairs have reached a stage where 20% population in these developed countries are enjoying the 80% resources of world while the 80% population in other countries are forced to live on 20% resources.  The developed countries will have to restrict themselves if they really wish to develop the underdeveloped countries.  The representatives of the developed countries come to the international forum with all their expertise and with a prepared agenda to be 'forced' on the developing countries.  Representatives from Bharat were not seen attending these conferences with such planning or preparation.  A country like Bharat with its size and population can stop the international forum from being a puppet in the hands of the international powers.  It can fight for the right of the developing and underdeveloped countries.

The recent rise in petroleum products has hurt one an all.  International rate per barrel was raised suddenly from 11$ to 30$.  The economy of all the oil importing countries has been affected.  Government is trying its best to control the losses.  However, people will believe in their efforts only when the government tries sincerely to cut down the lavish expenditure of the government, as it is the biggest oil-consuming agency.  The number of ministers and their entourage will have to be curbed.  The administrative structure will have to plan their movements without wastage.  If ministers decide to save on extra expenditure, then the whole administration will follow suit.

But, more serious problem is the stocks of natural gas! Research will have to be done on alternative fuels.  One of my friends in Uttar Pradesh is doing rounds to government offices for permission to produce Ethanol from Sugarcane.  Brazil uses Ethanol as fuel and recently Thailand has decided to use the same as fuel.  The bureaucratic wrangles did not allow things to work fast and only two distilleries in Maharashtra and two in Uttar Pradesh have been sanctioned permission to produce Ethanol.  We have the potential to produce all the fuel required for the vehicles in Bharat through this method.

Another glaring example is that of the chemical fertilizers.  The import and the subsidy of these fertilizers are incurring heavy losses to the government.  Everybody is aware today that the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides are reducing the productivity of the soil.  West is more inclined today towards use of the organic fertilizers.  We have the boon of ample cattle but they are being butchered and their meat exported.  Cattle when sent to the abattoir costs Rs.8000/- only while if it is kept alive can turn up cowdung and other products worth Rs.25000/-.  Usage of organic manure will improve social health as well as maintain the productivity of the soil.

Third example can be of developing the infrastructure for the rural areas.  When our ministers go begging before the international agencies for the development of infrastructure, we are upset.  Local financial resources can be encouraged towards creation of these facilities like construction of pucca roads.  State of Maharashtra has set an example in this direction.  Other states should follow and a network of road and other infrastructure should be established for enhancing the speed of development.

Multinational corporations and some Indian industries are also encouraging consumerism, knowingly or n knowingly.  Nature has all the resources for us to be used properly but uncontrolled used of the resource will surely create problems of humanity.  Philosopher in west are worried about the morality in life with rise of the consumerism while we are aping the west culturally.  We will have to be careful in protecting our cultural ethos from the western influence.

The best way to guard our country from all these invasions is to create a proud, developed and powerful nation based on Swadeshi science, technology and swadeshi philosophy.  We will have to develop a model of social, economical, political development suited to Bharat according to the present times.  We believe this to be the path of national regeneration taking Bharat to the Param Vaibhav sthiti.  We are not doing this only for our country but towards the development of whole world.

3.  PRIME MINISTER: Prime Minister, Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee is progressing well after his knee surgery.  He has been discharged from the hospital at Mumbai and has since returned to New Delhi.  He has resumed his normal work.

4.  KANISHKA MYSTERY SOLVED: Canadian Government has arrested two sikhs settled in Canada after a 15 year long investigation and have accused them for engineering bomb'; explosions in Al Kanshika on its flight from' Montreal to London on June 23, 1985.  All the 329 passengers aboard and the staff had died in the carriage.  The two men Ripudaman Singh Malik and Ajaib Singh have been arrested informed a Royal Canadian Mounted Police spokesperson.  Both the arrested persons are residing in British Columbia.

7.  SNIPPETS: 1) Bharat has called for early action and strong measures for restoration of democracy and an appointment of a Special Envoy in Fiji as decided by the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG).  Leader of the Indian delegation informed the meeting of the Commonwealth Senior Officials held in Samoa's capital city.

2) Terrorist activity in J & K, which had gathered momentum after Kargil war, has now been contained.  Sustained efforts by Security Forces in the area have borne fruit.  Normal life in the State is largely restored.  Tourist traffic has also increased.

3.) A few years back RSS and its associated organisations were totally ignored by news media (especially in English language); but now it is in the newspapers everyday.  Issues raised by RSS are reported and discussed.  A healthy sign!

4) Released secret papers of Erstwhile USSR army has indicated that Netaji was very much alive in 1946.  It means he had survived 1945 aircrash, where he has reported to have dies.  Released secret papers of UK Intelligence services also corroborate this!

5.) Shri Jitendra Prasad, a senior Congress leader and member of the Congress Working Committee has signed his papers for presidentship of the Congress against Smt.  Sonia Gandhi.  This is for the first time that some one has dared to stand against Nehru family in Congress! Smt.  Sonia will of course win, but severe differences in Congress are already in the open.

6.) Shri Rajnath Singh has taken over as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.  In Goa, BJP lead coalition has taken over the State Government.  Shri Manohar Parrikar of BJP has been sworn in as Chief Minister.

9.  FOOD FOR THOUGHT: All the work you do is done for your own benefit.  God has not fallen into a ditch for you and me to help Him out by building a hospital, or something of that sort! He allows you to work......  not in order to help Him, but you may help yourself.  Do you think even an ant will die for want of your help? Most arrant blasphemy! The world does riot need you at all.  Cut out the word 'help' from your mind.  You cannot help; it is blasphemy! You worship.  When you give a morsel of food to a dog, you worship the dog as God.  He is all and is in all.

Swami Vivekananda
