Asserting that father of the Indian Constitution B R Ambedkar supported the RSS ideology, the organisation's Chief K S Sudarshan on Sunday said Dr Ambedkar opposed such social workers whose action and deed differed with respect to Dalits.

Mr Sudarshan, while inaugurating late RSS Pracharak Dattopant Thengadi's book Dr Ambedkar aur samajik kranti ki yatra, said the RSS had always felt oneness with Dr Ambedkar.

Throwing light on Dr Ambedkar's personality, he said Dr Ambedkar had always worked for the upliftment of Dalits and the lowest strata of society, while bearing the brunt of his own bitter experiences.

Commenting upon the increasing political competition for providing reservation, the RSS Chief said Dr Ambedkar had always opposed this and said after framing of the Constitution that each generation should not be bound.

''The demand for reservation for Dalits, Muslims, Christians and lower sections is inspired by political considerations and Dr Ambedkar opposed this,'' he said.

Mr Sudarshan said Dr Ambedkar had rejected allurements by Muslims and Christians and remained firm in Hindu culture.

On Dr Ambedkar's role in framing of the Constitution, he said the Congress had pressurised him during the framing of 'English-style' Constitution and said he would have-burnt'' the Constitution if things were in his control.

He said Dr Ambedkar kept his promise to Mahatma Gandhi to remain in the country's culture and adopted Buddhist religion.

Mr Sudarshan said there was no difference between ''Hindu and Dalit society.'' He described Dr Ambedkar as a great scholar of economics and sociology and said his knowledge and research was in the country's welfare.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Babulal Gaur, RSS Pracharak Suresh Soni and former Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa were among those present.
