Unnerved by Telgi narco tapes on TV, LeT decided to kill narco experts if their men ever got caught, reveals IISc accused

The narco analysis of Abdul Karim Telgi may have helped Mumbai police immensely in cracking the multi-crore scam, but little does anyone know that the tapes of the same analysis could have spelled doom for the Bangalore Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) chief and other experts.

In a startling revelation, LeT terrorist Sabahuddin, prime accused in the December 2005 IISC attack at Bangalore and also an associate of 7/11 accused Ehtesham Siddiqui, said during a six-hour long narco test in Bangalore FSL that he and other terrorists had planned to kill doctors and scientists involved in narco tests, if any of their team got caught. The terrorists were particularly targetting Bangalore FSL Assistant Director Dr Malini Subramaniam as she has done the o tests of several terrorists and criminals including Telgi, Abu Salem and recently of 7/11 accused.
Karnataka DG K R Srinivasan confirmed the revelations during Sabahuddin's narco tests last week. "I am aware of the developments, but till now I have not received an official communication from the FSL," he said.

The terrorists apparently took this decision after they saw the Telgi narco analysis tapes on television while they were training in Pakistan. Sabahuddin and others were shocked to see how Telgi under the influence of drugs rattled all the information about his misdeeds. The terrorists realised that if they got caught, they would too be forced to go under narco test and would run the risk of revealing confidential information about their operations. It was then that they unanimously decided if any of them got arrested they would kidnap and kill the concerned doctors and experts.

While refusing to divulge other details of Sabahuddin's narco test, Malini Subramaniam did confirm the terrorists' intent to kill her and her colleagues. "After watching the (Telgi) tapes they realised that it was not just the police that would make them speak but there would be a set of doctors, scientists and experts too involved. It was this that made them decide about eliminating experts like us. All these things were revealed in the narco test of Sabahuddin. After this startling revelation we have had a series of internal meetings to discuss the seriousness of the issue and we have also informed the police."

Who is Sabahuddin?

Sabahuddin, an accused in the December 2005 Bangalore IISC attack and the attack on the CRPF camp in Rampur UP, was arrested by UP police on February 10. He was handed over to the Karnataka police in connection with the IISC attack probe later. Last Tuesday he was subjected to narco analysis test in Bangalore FSL.

Preliminary investigations by the UP police revealed that Sabahuddin along with others had planned to bomb stock exchange and the Churchgate station in Mumbai.
