There were ugly scenes outside Perth Magistrate's
Court this afternoon as supporters of three men accused of pack-raping an
18-year-old woman on Christmas morning clashed with media.
A photographer from The West Australian was
threatened before police intervened. Another supporter of the accused men
scuffled with a television reporter.
The accused, Ali Alvarza, 18, Roberto Ramy,
22, and Hussein Al-Muntafigi, 22, appeared in front of a packed gallery of
supporters in court this morning.
All were granted bail with strict conditions,
including surrendering their passports, and all are banned from approaching
either an airport or the alleged victim.
The men were not required to enter a plea.
The men allegedly pack-raped the woman early
on Christmas morning after forcing her to go with them to a Nollamara unit.
It is believed one of the men filmed the attack.
Police allege the men, who knew the woman,
took turns sexually assaulting her in a bedroom before taking her home.
The men have been released on $20,000 bail
and $20,000 surety each.
