Prognosticating a possibility of a post-poll alliance between BJP and BSP, former saffron leader and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Uma Bharati said Mayawati would have no option but to join hands with the BJP after the elections.

"This is the only possibility as Mayawati will not be able to garner support from other quarters," Uma Bharati told a select group of reporters here on Friday.

She said that no political party could risk aligning with Mayawati. But the BJP would have no option to but to take Mayawati's help if it was close to the magic figure required to form the government, she said.

Bharati, who is also national president of Bharatiya Janshakti Party, is campaigning for the BJP and its prime ministerial candidate LK Advani.

Bharati castigated Kalyan Singh for showing remorse over the demolition of Babri masjid, saying how could he feel sorry for an incident which catapulted him to the pinnacle of his political career.

"Kalyan Singh gained popularity from BJP's Ram Mandir agitation and now he is feeling sorry. Why? Just to please his new friends," she said without naming Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Bharati, however, clarified that she would neither campaign in favour of Kalyan Singh nor against him. "He is my elder brother," she said.
