Mayurbhanj records highest polling

It is official now. The highest per cent of polling was reported in Maoist-hit Mayurbhanj Lok Sabha constituency with a record polling of 71.35 per cent. The lowest percentage of polling was reported in Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha constituency with a polling of 55.02 per cent. The total poll percentage in the second phase of election in the State was 66.77 per cent.

All the Maoist-hit districts recorded more than 60 per cent polling. While Keonjhar Lok Sabha constituency recorded 70.53 per cent, Balasore 71.24 per cent, Bhadrak 67.21 per cent, Jajpur 67.33 per cent, Dhenkanal 66.70 per cent, Cuttack 62.67 per cent, Kendrapara 68.28 per cent, Jagatsinghpur 67.53 per cent, Puri 66.57 and Bhubaneswar recorded 55.02 per cent polling.

The lowest per cent of polling was reported from Bhubaneswar (North) Assembly with polling of only 35 per cent and highest polling was reported from Ghasipura Assembly constituency in Keonjhar with a record polling of 78.20 per cent.

However, the CEO office is yet to provide the poll percentage in the prestigious Bhubaneswar (Central) Assembly constituency in which BJP's senior leader Biswabhusan Harichandan is contesting.

While Patkura Assembly constituency recorded 68.89 per cent, Rajnagar 68.49 per cent, Balikuda-Ersama 68.78 per cent, Nimapara 69 per cent, Brahmagiri 72 per cent, Pipili 71 per cent, Nayagarh 67 per cent, Ekamra- Bhubaneswar 37.43 per cent, Jatni 68.86 per cent, Khurda 61.31 per cent Cuttack-Sadar- 61 per cent, Pallahara 74 per cent, Talcher 68 per cent, Basta 77.19 per cent, Basudevpur 70.70 per cent, Jajpur 65.37 per cent, Korei 67.23 per cent, Sukinda 76.89 per cent, Paradip 67.74 per cent, Tirtol 66.02 per cent and Jagatsinghpur 70.16 per cent.
