Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan termed Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi's statement about misuse of Central Government funds and that the minimum amount of that reaches to the people as the step to maligne the image of State Government.

Chouhan in a letter to Gandhi on Saturday said his statements are intentionally given with the motive to defame the State Government and it seems that he didn't even hesitate to take the support of lies to meet out their motive.

Chouhan questioned Rahul that doesn't the self contradictory statements given by him puts question mark on his credibility.

He further said either Gandhi is not able to decide what figure he should quote against the State Government or he forgets his own statements given few days back. He said in Gandhi's age memory should be sharp, but the fact is that who so ever speaks in his ears, without confirming it he speaks out in rallies.

In support of his statement, Chouhan said that during his one-day stay in the State, Gandhi lamented the misuse of central funds by State Government and said that 15 per cent of the funds reaches to people. On April 15 he reduced the percentage to 10 during a meeting at Panna and on April 21 in a meeting at Pipariya he reduced the percentage further to just five per cent.

He reminded Gandhi that during an election meeting he even said that the funds allotted by the Centre didn't reaches people.Chouhan further lashed the Congress leader by saying that the State where everything seems bad to him has been appreciated by the UPA Government ministers on many occasions.
