Sunday was a very eventful day. Blasts in Patna before BJP’s big Hunkar rally killed more than five people and injured so many. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi also addressed a rally in Mangolpuri area of New Delhi. As soon as Modi started his speech at Patna, live telecast of Rahul’s speech was blacked out by almost all news channels and media houses. I wanted to know what Rahul Gandhi said — any new ideas, solution that he may have provided against corruption, or on inflation or the scandals his corrupt party has presided over.

After much research, I found on news channels and web sites that Rahul Gandhi spoke mostly on how Delhi Metro changed Delhi and gave credit to Sheila Dikshit and the Congress for that.

Rahul said Sheila Dikshit has changed Delhi and that people from other States are now inviting DMRC to start metro rail there. Indonesia has invited Delhi Metro Authority for a similar project in its capital Jakarta.

Dear Rahul Gandhi, here is some information you should be aware of before spreading lies openly. First of allm the credit for Delhi’s successful Metro project goes to Padma Vibhushan awardee E Sreedharan (known affectionately as Metro man). Credit also goes to the NDA Government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee who, in spite of a Congress Government in Delhi with Sheila Dikshit as Chief Minister, did not create any hurdles for this project. This, unfortunately, is not the case when it comes to BJP-ruled States with Congress ruling at the Centre. We all know how the Gujarat Government has had to fight in the Supreme Court for getting CNG, LPG on same prices as other States.

Rahul, I would like to remind you that at the same time when Delhi Metro project was being executed in a timely, corruption/controversy-free fashion by Sreedharan, a man of impeccable record; CWG games, managed by Congress MP Suresh Kalmadi and the Delhi Government led by Sheila Dikshit were a royal mess. India barely managed to save face in the international community. The kind of management facilities provided for CWG, project delivery, and lastly the corruption charges that erupted in Congress’s face are no facts to hide from anyone.

Yes, Sheila Dikshit has changed Delhi. She has turned it into a city in which a common man is not able to survive, electricity costs and cost of living are skyrocketing. Not to forget the most recent addition of onion prices going as high as Rs 100 per kg. So please read more news of what is happening around the world even if you choose to remain oblivious of Indian history.
