On the 10th of April the Ministry of Personnel had a press release on multiple changes at the highest levels of the Civil Service across Ministries and Departments. These changes the press release said were at the behest of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet which incidentally is headed by the Prime Minister with the Home Minister as a Member. These changes of key personnel within Ministries announced on the 10th of April were neither unusual nor exceptional but merely routine bureaucratic reshuffles common within our westminister system of governance inherited from the British. Just 3 days prior on the 7th of April there were more than 10 such changes.

One just had to take a look at PIB releases of the Ministry Personnel to realize that Senior Bureaucrats are moved around across Departments and Ministries almost every week and month all authorized by a Cabinet Committee.

Yet the Outlook Magazine building on a Campaign of Calumny of few other Delhi based Media Outlets has sought to single out the HRD Ministry under Smriti Irani for bureaucratic changes while levelling personal attacks against the Minister.

The Campaign of Calumny against Smriti Irani is not new. Right from the time she assumed Office in 2014, a section of the Left-Libs and Delhi’s Media had sought to manufacture controversies over every minor issues real or imagined. On issue after issue from the issue of German in KVs to the issue of Gurutsva and Good Governance Day, it is clear that the media has distorted facts, subverted the truth and sought to make a villain of Ms Irani. When the issues run out of steam these media mercenaries and their Left-Lib buddies have resorted to the worst kind of personal attacks neither sparing Ms. Irani nor her family.

The worst manifestation of this cheap personalized campaign against Smriti Irani was to be seen few months back when this so called “public intellectual” did not stop at even dragging in the Prime Minister. The same individual is at it again this time aiding and abetting the latest round of the campaign of calumny in the Outlook Magazine.

How cheap Delhi’s hacks can get and how low the bar is for all pretensions of feminism and gender activism to be thrown out of the window can be seen from these remarks by a celebrated Journalist in the Outlook Magazine

Here is the statement in @Outlookindia. YES!! @smritiirani shud have enjoyed the camera peeping in the trial room!

The reality is that the Left-Lib ecosystem that rode the Delhi gravy train for more than a decade suddenly finds itself cut out of the HRD Ministry’s patronage. What is worse, hard questions are being raised on the largesse towards one celebrated Left-Lib Activist by the UPA era HRD Ministry under Kapil Sibal.  With the heat being turned on the Left-Lib NGOs who benefitted at the tax payers expense during the UPA years, Smriti Irani it seems has emerged as a soft target for all those who find themselves “offloaded” from the Delhi gravy train.

For the first time the formulation of the National Education Policy has been opened up through a process of consultation that breaks barriers, allowing for voices far outside Delhi that previously went unheard to have a say in the Policy while limiting the influence of the Left-Lib ecosystem that has for decades exercised a disproportionate say on Policy Affairs.  The intensity of the personal attacks are a sign that status quo is being challenged in a manner never before and the Left-Libs who abused the system during the UPA era are feeling the heat.

The Campaign of Calumny against Smriti Irani in many ways mirrors the campaign against Narendra Modi over the 2002 riots.

My heartfelt gratitude for all the support against the slanderous statements in a print magazine. Unfortunate publishing standards.

Perhaps the best outcome of this would be a silent but determined Smriti Irani soldiering on to quietly dismantle the rotten Nehru-Gandhi policy edifice that has burdened the education sector of this country for decades. Much to the chagrin of the Left-Libs such a dismantling of the Nehruvian education edifice and a radical transformation of the education sector  would not only endear her to the growing Neo-Middle Class but would shut up her critics for good permanently.

Social Media backlash against Outlook Magazine

An actress shouldn't mind a pervert spying on her in a changing room – @Outlookindia Forgetting even basic decency because they hate BJP

@DrShobha @shilpitewari @Outlookindia @smritiirani Smriti Ji should file defamation case against this anti national outlook

— sambit (@samips129) April 11, 2015

A senior journalist actually wrote such disgusting words about a woman minister & everybody is silent. This is not Omerta?

— GAURAV C SAWANT (@gauravcsawant) April 11, 2015

Ok. Mind officially boggled. Is @Outlookindia actually arguing that actresses should be ok with being spied on?!! https://t.co/nr2QeUlSdv

Because @smritiirani is an actor she shouldn't be rattled by cameras in trial room. Gutter journalism @Outlookindia pic.twitter.com/L8I8ysMlQa

Is this why Smriti Irani is being targetted all the more?  "HRD panel to probe charges against Teesta Setalvad " http://t.co/INPQ9nrbhB
