A meeting of the state leaders of RSS and RSS-inspired organisations has resolved to step up the campaign against the women’s entry to Sabarimala temple since the Supreme Court verdict has not taken into consideration the sentiments of the believers. The stakeholders were never consulted in this matter.
 
The meeting was held in Bhaskareeyam Convention Centre, Kochi on October 8. The meeting was attended by senior RSS leaders and leaders of the RSS-inspired organisations.
 
The organisation is named “Sabarimala Karmmasamiti” (Sabarimala Action Council). Sreemoolam Tirunal Sasikumar Verma of Pandalam Royal family and Swami Chidananda Puri are the patrons of the Council. Adv. Govinda Bharatan is the president. Hindu Aikya Vedi president K.P. Sasikala Teacher is the chairperson and VHP state president S.J.R. Kumar is the coordinator. Three leaders of each Sangh-inspired organisation are incorporated into the leadership. Erode Rajan, Swami Ayyappadas, V.K. Vishwanathan, E.S. Biju, R.V. Babu, K.P. Haridas, V. Mohanan, V.R. Rajasekharan, K.S. Narayanan, A.P. Bharathkumar, Bindu Mohanan, Sarala S. Panicker and Pushpa Prasad are the committee members.
 
The Council will organise roadblock in 200 centres in the state on October 10, the first day of Navrathri. The same campaign will be organised in four Dakshin Bharat states and also in Maharashtra. In Kerala, roadblocks will be organised in all taluk centres.
 
Hindu leadership meeting will take place on October 11 in Kottayam. Namajapayajnam will be organised at secretariat gate along with Pandalam royal family members.
 
Women will observe a hunger strike from 9 am onwards and namajapa yajna (prayer rituals) on October 17 in Erumeli and Nilakkal, important centres on hilltops, on the way to Sabarimala shrine.
 
Afterwards, a meeting of the scholars in Sabarimala temple matters will be carried out in the state. Simultaneously legal fights will continue. The Council will submit memoranda before the prime minister, state governors and state chief ministers.
 
Meanwhile, streets of Kerala are witnessing hundreds of protest processions of women cutting across political, caste and religious lines. Thousands of women are participating in them.
 
NSS, Thanthri family and Pandalam royal family, have filed review petitions before the supreme court.
