The Nation, a Pakistani daily, published a report on February 15 after the dastardly acts on February 14, with the headline ‘Freedom fighter launches attack, 44 of occupying force killed in IOK’.

Someone who kills people in cold blood is not a terrorist for Pakistan. Someone who blows up 40 innocent men to smithereens with aid from a terror group based out of Pakistan is not a terrorist ‘for’ Pakistan. Someone who publicly acknowledged allegiance to a banned terror outfit named Jaish-e-Mohammed before ramming his vehicle loaded with 350 kilograms of explosives into a CRPF convoy is a “freedom fighter” for Pakistan.

That’s how the controversial Pakistani media has been covering the barbarous Pulwama terror attacks, planned and executed by the JeM and its nefarious founder Masood Azhar in Pakistan.

It seems the explosion was too deafening for the Pakistani government and media that even after the entire world condemned the attacks and called out the Islamic nation for its terror activities, they could not gather the courage to call Adil Ahmad Dar, the suicide bomber, a ‘terrorist’.

The charade of cover-ups does not end there. The Pakistani media also tried to come up with alibis for the JeM even after the terror group itself claimed responsibility for the bloodbath.

The Nation, a Pakistani daily, published a report on February 15 after the dastardly acts on February 14, with the headline ‘Freedom fighter launches attack, 44 of occupying force killed in IOK’. The newspaper report also quoted a JeM ‘spokesperson’ who absolved the outfit from any wrongdoing.

Leading media publications in Pakistan such as The Express Tribune and Daily Times also fudged facts while reporting about the attack. What’s baffling is the deafening silence on the part of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan who assured better relations with India in his first address after assuming the post last year.

JeM carried out the brutal attack that killed 40 CRPF jawans on February 14 in Awantipora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The attack took place around 3:30 pm after a suicide bomber, identified as local boy Adil Ahmad Dar, in a Mahindra Scorpio car loaded with 350 kilograms of explosives rammed into a convoy of 78 vehicles carrying over 2500 CRPF personnel on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway.
