Why are the leftist generals suddenly scared of their own storm troopers

A few days ago, something truly remarkable (as well as ironic and amusing) happened. A whole bunch of big name “academics” (the majority of them in low IQ disciplines), high priests of the global leftist elite wrote an open letter against ‘cancel culture’ sweeping the United States. You know the thing where the left wing mob digs through your past, looking for any infractions that may have been or have recently been designated as thoughtcrimes or speechcrimes. Then, they destroy your life, your job, your reputation, everything.

Explained: The debate over Harper’s open letter against ‘cancel culture’

Since the letter was published, it has ignited a debate on “Cancel Culture” and critics have questioned the letter for limiting its concern towards free speech at the social, cultural and institutional level.
........................................................................

The letter, which includes folks like Noam Chomsky, can be found in Harper’s magazine.

Now, intellectuals love open letters. Even more than they love Che Guevara. A so called open letter, signed by a long list of what they consider eminent names, gets them aroused more than anything else. You know why? Because it sort of looks like the kind of government they really want: all things decided by a council of elites who matter, ruling over the masses who don’t matter.

Apparently, the high priests are concerned, as always, about the fate of the world. This time they are apparently being more unselfish than usual. As they look out from their ivory tower, they see the prison camps for the thousands of thought criminals they have captured in the great ideological war. The same ideological war that brought glory to these same high priests, who doubled up as generals.

The POWs have all been ‘canceled.’ Almost all of them have lost their reputation, been banned (effectively) from expressing themselves on the internet. Some have lost jobs. Harsher punishments are in the pipeline; once these people are put on a master list of thought criminals administered by organizations such as the Southern Poverty Law Center, these people will no longer be able to have even bank accounts, or credit cards.

Banishment was a big thing in medieval times. It’s making a comeback.

The high priests would have us believe that they feel a little bad about all of this. That they worry that some of the canceled thought criminals might have an isolated point here and there. And that the high priests, in their infinite wisdom and boundless mercy, feel sorry for them. And worry about the future of open debate.

That’s why the Noam Chomskies of the world are leaning out of their ivory towers and suddenly telling their storm troopers to hold back their zeal, just a little.

And since this open letter was published, there has been this dance in elite circles about debating the points raised. Did the cancel culture go too far? Should mercy be shown to the thought criminals from the other side?

They are having an enlightened debate, they say. That’s the official line.

BULLSHIT! F***ing bullshit, I say. Let me tell you the truth. These leftist generals are scared. They are f***ing scared of their own troops. Because they know that sooner or later, a mutiny is coming.

Let me read you just two extracts from the letter.

“The forces of illiberalism are gaining strength throughout the world and have a powerful ally in Donald Trump, who represents a real threat to democracy. “

And now, turning to their own side, they write:

“Editors are fired for running controversial pieces; books are withdrawn for alleged inauthenticity; journalists are barred from writing on certain topics; professors are investigated for quoting works of literature in class; a researcher is fired for circulating a peer-reviewed academic study; and the heads of organizations are ousted for what are sometimes just clumsy mistakes. Whatever the arguments around each particular incident, the result has been to steadily narrow the boundaries of what can be said without the threat of reprisal.“

Did you catch that?

Look at the directness in the first extract and see the vagueness in the second. When they were going after the right, they didn’t mince words. They went after Trump straight.

But see how they write about the left. Everything is written in riddles. Everything said in nudge-nudge, wink-wink format. Unless you are a crazy political nerd who follows every breath of American politics, I don’t think you would get even a half of all those veiled references to various incidents.

Why the sudden loss of directness? Why the fear in naming names? Because the leftist generals are f***ing scared. They know that if they start taking names, their own left wing mob will turn against them.

They weren’t scared to name the President of the United States. They boldly called him a threat to democracy. Why are they scared to give details of the incidents of left wing intolerance they are referring to?

(Side note: This open letter came out in the same Harper’s magazine, which, a few days back, compared Kashmiri Hindus to Nazis for celebrating the removal of Article 370.)

They weren’t scared of direct language two weeks ago. They were not scared to draw the most outrageous comparisons. What happened to their directness now? Why so shy? Why not name names and expose the left?

I’ll tell you this. Chomsky is a man who terrifies me. Not his intellect. Growing up, I’ve heard the same things said by unemployed youth clubs of CPM supporters playing carrom all evening in every nook and corner of Bengal.

I was terrified by Chomsky’s demeanor. So cold-blooded. He speaks with the coolness of a man who does not expect anyone to dare oppose him. He does not appear like he is giving a view that can be debated: his rhetoric sounds like orders on the day after all the thought criminals have been executed.

How did this man, who exuded authority, turn into a coward who dare not name names? Why have they embraced the tone of the disempowered?

Generally speaking, in any debate, you can tell who is in power and who is not. Just check which side does not mince words. I’ll give you a simple example. Have you seen Indian leftists use filters? No, never. They directly insult Hindus, not giving two hoots about sentiments. They know they have a powerful ecosystem to protect them. Heck, they will probably get promotions for being outrageous.

On the other side, there are the desi RW. They know they have no power. That’s why they speak in vague references : they say “peaceful” instead of …. They express their opinions in a sort of code, with nicknames, deliberately misspelled words. Words like ” ‘slims ” that seem meaningless until you think about the context. Even though they are overground, they have to talk like an underground organization. Because they are hiding from everyone, starting with faceless algorithms of the big social media companies. When they outrage, their weapon of choice is sarcasm not accusation. They have to. If tomorrow someone drags them to court, what can they do? So instead of criticizing, they heap over the top praise, hoping that others will get the sarcasm. At its core, sarcasm is a figure of speech that protects the powerless.

Don’t take names. Play safe.

So why are Chomsky and his fellow generals suddenly using the tone of the powerless? Because they are feeling powerless too. The storm troopers have grown very very strong. And any day now, they might turn against their generals.

These people do not fear for society. They fear for themselves. They know that their own past will come up sooner or later. And then they will face the same wrath of the leftist lynchmob that they have unleashed on others.

They started the war for their own objectives. They have fulfilled their own objectives. Now they don’t know how to tell the troops to stop.

No, it’s not like America has ended racism. Far from it. You see these leftist generals never gave a damn about racism. They wanted wealth and power for themselves, riding this rhetoric.

What did African Americans get from this war that leftist generals waged? Zero! Zilch! The mostly black communities in inner city New York or Chicago got nothing. No schools, no jobs, no future. In hyper liberal San Francisco or Los Angeles, homeless people are reduced to defecating on the streets.

So who got all these gains from liberalism? The high priests made a ton of money and won prestigious prizes, but how many good schools did black kids get out of it?

This is why I said I am deeply sympathetic to Black Lives Matter. Because the movement has raw anger in it. And it is not afraid to reject heroes, even if they are Washington or Jefferson.

Chomsky knows. If Washington can be canceled, so can Chomsky. What happens to his empire then?

Black Lives Matter! F*ck yeah, they do. Now tell me how many of the high priests of liberalism who signed that open letter are actually black? And if the council of high priests has zero representation from black people, then why are they giving orders to everyone else. Get out, Chomsky. We want to see a black man sit on your throne.

No wonder he is running scared.
