A Hindu teacher in Pakistan has been sentenced to 25 years for his remarks against Prophet Muhammad, says a report. His arrest was made following a complaint by a class 11 student.

According to All Pakistan Hindu Panchayat (APHP), the Sukkhur session court on Monday has pronounced 25 years imprisonment to Notan Lal and has also slapped a fine of Rs 50000.

According to APHP in 2019, a class 11 student of Notan Lal’s school Muhammad Ibtisam accused Notan of making blasphemous remarks against prophet Muhammad.

The boy’s father Abdul Aziz Rajpur lodged a complaint against Notan with police. As per the complaint, the students were studying Islamiyat where Notan allegedly made blasphemous remarks.
