Vishwa Hindu Parishad
DHARMA SANSAD
Dharma Sansad was held on 7th April 1984 in Indraprastha
- Delhi. From its declared objectives and the code of
conducts stipulated for them, following clearly establish
that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has the progress of Hindu
Society at heart:
Objective No.1:
To prescribe Code of Dharma in the context of Modern
times, for upholding and developing the Hindu Samaj as
one entity.
Objective No.2:
To give guidance for rooting out social evils like
corruption, untouchability and dowry so as to maintain a
healthy society.
Code of Conduct:
- Decisions should be taken by organisations of dif-
ferent castes against the demand of dowry. There should
no condition of dowry in cash or kind in marriages.
- The feeling of untouchability and discrimination
against any section of the society should be uprooted.
If violence occurs at any place on this account, the
prominent citizens should immediately intervene, uphold
harmony and restore peace.
- People having faith in morality should unitedly try
to take effective steps to remove corruption after care-
ful investigation, from every walk of social life.
Objective No.5:
To create a feeling of equality and fraternity
amongst the depressed and backward classes by
upholding
the dignity of labour.
Code of Conduct :
- Manual labour should be a necessary part of one's
life and no type of manual work should be looked down
upon.
- At the commencement of every construction work, puja
should be performed and labourers honoured.
- On the occasion of festivals every family should
ensure the workers connected with the family do join the
celebrations so as to give them a feeling of equality and
participation.
Objective No.6:
To establish wide contacts in the backward areas
and to start "adoption scheme" for solving their prob-
lems.
Code of Conduct:
- The well-to-do families and Math Mandirs should take
the responsibility to develop selected backward areas.
This is the "Adoption Scheme".
- There are lakhs of neglected and backward villages
in thousands of Development Blocks. For the develop-
ment of these areas thousands of Vanaprasthis will have
to come forward. In other words, the old tradition of
Vanaprastha Ashram will have to be revived.
- All grihasthis will have to be persuaded to extend
their co-operation in the development of such backward
areas. Rich families and Industrialists should also co-
operatein their development though adoption.
Other objectives mostly relate to education of es-
sence of Hinduism and temples.
A PANORAMA OF SANGHPARIVAR SCHEMES FOR
UPLIFTMENT AND
REFORMS IN HINDU SOCIETY:
In the recent RSS Annual meet, it was confirmed that
there are more than 7,000 SERVICE PROJECT RUN BY
THE
PARIWAR.
It was only the RSS who immediately condemned the
statement of one Shankarcharya that Women cannot cite or
learn Vedas. In fact, late Shri Balasaheb Deoras, the
then Sarsanghchalak made it a point to attend a ceremony
held at Pune where the ladies were the priests and thread
ceremony for some girls was held.
He openly urged the Swayamsevaks to do away with
castes encouraged inter-caste marriages. Today Sangh
Parivar has the highest number of inter-caste marriages
than any other organisation.
Sangh Parivar has already launched a special move-
ment called SAMAJIK SAMARASATA MANCH (Social
Integra-
tion Forum) which has given excellent results in ending
the caste system and bringing and developing the neglect-
ed strata of society who live like outcaste in the jun-
gles or far away from the villages .
VANAVASI KALYAN ASHRAM is another institute which
has been working all over India for years successfully
among the tribal and remote places for educating the peo-
ple there and towards their development.
STREE SHAKTI
This is another Women's organisation of Sangh Pari-
var established solely for the purpose of serving the
cause of women whom superstitions or society has done
injustice. Some of the workers are known to work in jun-
gles and Assam hills and some of them are working even
for poor women in red light area. This movement is gain-
ing ground fast and is considered as a great support for
such women.
SANSKAR BHARATI:
This is a wing established for developing the liking
of Indian classical music and arts and doing Sanskaaras
on Children.
BAL SANSKAR KENDRAS
This is a vast organisation now being accepted in
many parts of India which is promoting good Sanskaars on
Children and has already met with phenomenal success.
GONDA AND BEED PROJECTS :
Under the aegis of Deen Dayal Research Institute,
Shri Nanaji Deshmukh has established these pilot projects
in remote and backward areas of M.P. and Maharashtra re-
spectively to economically and socially develop the lo-
calities of extremely backward people so that they will
not develop themselves but a chain action has been insti-
tuted to keep the movement going on mostly from among
these people themselves.
MADHAV SAGAR
This project is working for leprosy affected people
in Madhya Pradesh. The goods produced by the lepers are
getting good market and this has become a centre of
progress for them. Shri Guruji Golwalkar had encouraged
this project and given it 42 acres of land which he had
received from a landlord.
