The war between Ram and Ravana was in a critical phase. Meghnad (son of
Ravana) wounded Lakshman with his mace. Dr Sushen prescribed a medicine
and Ram sent Hanuman to get it. Unfortunately, all the local chemists
were closed for the day. Without asking anyone, Hanuman flew to the
Himalayas by a specially chartered plane. There, he bought the
Sanjeevani bootee which saved Lakshman's life.

After the war, Hanuman submitted his travel bill to Mr Vibhishan, in
charge of the personnel department. He scrutinized the bill, and sent
it to Ram with the following note: "Hanuman is a class IV employee, and
he travelled from Lanka to Himalaya Nagar by air, without prior
approval. The personnel manual does not authorize class IV employees to
travel by air. Hence your permission is required to reject the tour
bill and initiate disciplinary action against Hanuman."
