Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden has called upon Muslims, the world over
to wage jihad against Jews and Christians who, he alleges, are perpetrating
atrocities on them. "You are fully aware that Jews and Christians have,
through their machinations, occupied the Muslim holy sites in Haramain
Sharifain and in Palestine," Bin Laden said.
Bin Laden made the call for jihad in a message to mark the publication
of an issue of Jamiat Talaba-e-Arabia's magazine Mishkat-ul-Misbah. The
message carried bin Laden's name and signature. "God says they can never
be your friend until you start following them. Therefore jihad against
both has to be carried out by Muslims," he said, NNI news agency reported.
Bin Laden, whom the United States accuses of having masterminded attacks
on its facilities worldwide, including the 1998 bombings of embassies in
Kenya and Tanzania, further said besides occupying and sacrileging Muslim
holy places, Jews and Christians were also plundering their wealth and
resources.
"How can we remain silent spectators. It is the joint duty of Muslims
to wage jihad against Jews and Christians in the entire world," he said.
"It is therefore necessary that unfailing efforts are made for the liberation
of Muslim holy places, Kashmir, Palestine and other oppressed Muslim territories,"
he said to the magazine.(India Abroad News Service)
