The RSS today said it preferred
a negotiated settlement to the Ayodhya tangle even as it indicated that
Kashi and Mathura continued to be on the Sangh Parivar agenda.
``We are in favour of a peaceful
solution to the Ram Janma Bhoomi issue acceptable to both the communities.
It could be either through legal means or negotiations, but we do prefer
a negotiated settlement,'' RSS joint general secretary Madan Das Devi said
here.
Describing the conception of Ram
temple as a matter of national honour, he said it was for the Marg Darshak
Mandal of the VHP to decide on the date to begin the construction work.
Asked whether building temples at
Kashi and Mathura ``Krishna Janma Bhoomi'' continued to be part of the
RSS agenda, Devi said ``we are not a political party to have any agenda.
We are committed to the nation building (Rashtra Mandir). And Ayodhya,
Kashi and Mathura are a part of that process.''
