Concerned with the high number of
Hindus not being able to find the right marriage partners, the Malaysia
Hindu Sangam will play Cupid with its matchmaking programme.
The programme is aimed at helping
eligible Hindu bachelors, single women, widows, widowers and divorcees
find suitable life partners.
Held for the second time, the Suyamvaram
2, will be held on June 9 from 8am at the Shri Lakshmi Narayan Tample in
Kg Kasipillay, Kuala Lumpur.
Organising committee chairman Krishna
Raj Mohan said the association was happy that the first Suyamvaram received
tremendous support and was a success.
"Many of those who took part in
that Suyamvaram are now happily married," she said here yesterday.
Following its success, she said
that parents of unmarried children had requested the association to organise
another programme for their children.
"The Hindu Sangam feels it is obligated
to help these parents," she added.
To ensure that no individuals abuse
the programme, she said parents would have to accompany their children.
"There will also be priests and
astrologers to help interested parties find out their horoscope match,"
she said.
Krishna said the entrance fee would
be RM20 for participants and RM5 for parents. Breakfast and lunch would
be provided.
"Applicants are required to attach
a recent postcard size coloured photograph with the application form. They
should also bring along their Jathagam (horoscope) on that day," she added.
