Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international
vice-president Acharya Giriraj Kishore gave a call to Hindus to stand united
in fighting the Islamic fundamentalists. The VHP leader was at Jammu on
a two-day visit to take stock of the situation after the terrorist attack
on the Raghunath Temple.
The angry VHP leader the attack
as an assault on the Hindu culture, religion and social heritage. He asked
the Hindus to accept it as a challenge to thwart similar attacks in future.
Criticising pseudo-secularists for maintaining a criminal silence over
this attack, he said, this attack was aimed at demoralising the nationalist
forces in the State.
Addressing a mammoth gathering,
Shri Giriraj Kishore said, "It is all due to the appeasement policies of
'secularists' that Islamic fundamentalists have been fanning in different
parts of the country". These pseudo-secularists are more dangerous than
pan-Islamic terrorists organizations, he said and added that these elements
have been supporting Islamic terrorists outfits just for consolidating
their vote-banks.
Accusing the so-called secular parties
of adopting double-standard he regretted, "Since Independence these parties
have been nourishing Islamic fundamentalism just for the sake of their
petty political gains".
On the one hand these pseudosecularists
have been raising hue and cry over Gujarat riots but on the other hand
they have maintained criminal silence over atrocities being meted out to
Hindus in J&K, he said and lambasted 'secular' outfits for not taking
up the causes of lakhs of Kashmiri Hindus who were forced to leave their
homes and hearth due to the threats of Islamic fundamentalists.
The time has come for the Hindus
to realise that "self help is the best help" and constitute defence committees,
ward committee and village committees for the protection of the community
members. They cannot depend any longer on the Government for the protection,
he said.
