Pakistanis residing in the United States have announced complete boycott of the Indian television  channels and blacklist the Pakistani artists performing for the Indian networks.

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the Pakistani community here.

The meeting passed a resolution asking the Pakistan government not to issue non-objection certificates to the Pakistani artists to intend to perform in the Indian sponsored show in the US.

The meeting was mainly organised by Sadiq Chaudhry and Bashir Qamar.

Addressing the meeting the speakers including Mujib Lodhi, Faiq Siddiqi, Shafiq Siddiqi, Dr Fahim Butt, Imtiaz Rahi, Asghar Chaudhry, Sardar Chaudhry, Abbas Raza Shah, Syed Zahid Shahbaz, Waqas Ahmed, Niaz Joya, Asif Baig, Aziz Butt, Inamullah, Shafiq ul Hassan Sheikh, Ashraf Chaudhry, Iqbal Khokhar, Maqbool Khan, Rana Saeed and Ali Baig said that boycott of the Indian culture was need of the hour and will continue of permanent basis.

They contended that the boycott should not be limited to the Indian networks and cultural shows but be also implemented on shops and stores run by the Indians.

They pledged to identify themselves as Pakistanis and unite under one banner.

It may be added that on June 29 a grand Indian cultural show is planned in New York.

The "Bollywood Awards" would also feature Pakistani actresses Reema and Meera.

The meeting of the Pakistani community decided that if the two Pakistani artists performed in the show they would be black listed and not allowed to perform in any Pakistani show thereafter.
