Awkwar queries (Letter to Editor)

Author: Dhiraj Nishant
Publication: The Times of India
Date: October 12, 2002

This is with reference to R.P. Desai letter, 'Selfless Soul' (Oct 8), in which he questions the VHP's commitment to social service. Why is it that almost all so-called secularists delight in targeting the VHP? And why is that the same awkward questions are not asked of religious organisations that belong to the minority community?

More significantly, why don't these outraged leftist-liberals ask themselves some awkward questions too? What work, for instance, do they do for the poor and the downtrodden in our society?
