The city police seized several Video
Compact Discs (VCDs) containing speeches of Osama-bin- Laden and visuals
of the training camps run by the terrorist group, Al- Qaida, posters with
provocative messages from Shaik Fareed, an old associate of Asgar Ali,
who is the prime accused in the killing of the former Gujarat Minister,
Haren Pandya.
Police said, Fareed, who has a track
record of indulging in communal violence, was arrested today from Yaqutpura
locality and several VCDs and posters were seized from his possession.
The VCDs, police said, contained visuals of alleged atrocities committed
on Muslims during post-Godhra and Babri Masjid demolition riots and also
riots in Palestine.
The gory visuals have an audio commentary
and songs, which urge the viewers to take revenge and wage war against
other community people and the Government, a police press release said.
The VCDs also contained speeches of Laden and the training programmes of
the Al- Qaida terrorists at Al Farooq camp.
Fareed, hailing from Pyare Sahab
Bagh in Nalgonda town, was allegedly involved in several communal offences
in Hyderabad city and Nalgonda, Suryapet and Bhongir towns. He was earlier
arrested by the Hyderabad and Nalgonda police and a non-bailable warrant
was pending against him in the Sultan Bazar and Suryapet police stations.
Fareed reportedly procured the VCDs and posters from Aurangabad and confessed
to making efforts to procure weapons to attack people of other community.
The Task Force DCP, Y. Gangadhar, supervised the raid which led to Fareed's
arrest.
