With tears rolling down her cheeks,
Chief Minister designate in Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje on Saturday remembered
her late mother and brother who taught her to 'serve people by entering
politics', reports PTI.
My mother (veteran BJP leader) Vijaya
Raje Scindia and brother (senior Congress leader) Madhav Rao Scindia, who
are no more, gave me great strength and taught me to service the people
by entering politics," an emotionally charged Raje said in a choked voice
while addressing newly elected BJP legislators here.
Copies of her mother's letter, as
the party's Central Observer of announcing election of Bhairon Singh Shekhawat
as leader of BJP legislature party to head the government in Rajasthan
in 1990 and her brother's letter announcing election of Ashok Gehlot as
leader Congress legislature party in 1998, Raje said she would try to follow
the path of serving people shown by them.
BJP's Central observer and Union
Finance Minister Jaswant Singh consoled Raje when she returned to her seat
fighting tears.
