The Vishwa Hindu Parishad today
demanded immediate release of two youths from Andhra Pradesh taken hostage
by the Taliban and called for the need to have a treaty between the Hindus,
Christians, Buddhists and Jews to fight what it terms as "jehadi terrorism".
VHP's international general secretary
Dr Pravin Togadia while demanding Centre's intervention to help in freeing
Murli and Vardaya wondered why the media is silent this time unlike the
kidnappings of American citizens by Harkat-ul-Ansar in Kashmir in mid 1990s.
The VHP will carry out programmes
for their release in Andhra Pradesh. These programmes will also be undertaken
by 100 chapters of the organization throughout the world, he added.
Alleging that Darul-ul-Devbandh,
Tablik Jamat and Ulema-E-Hind are associated with the Taliban, Dr Togadiya
urged that the former should display steps in the national interest and
make efforts in freeing the hostages. If not then the Indian government
should ban them, he said.
