The second day of the Bihar Assembly's
winter session was adjourned today on a noisy note within 10 minutes of
its opening with the entire Opposition rallying together, demanding the
report on Mohammad Shahabuddin be made public.
The state's ousted director-general
of police, D.P. Ojha, had submitted a detailed report to the government
on the criminal activities of Shahabuddin, the Rashtriya Janata Dal MP
from Siwan who was arrested and jailed in August.
The report, leaked by a private
cable channel, also mentions Shahabuddin's alleged involvement with underworld
don Dawood Ibrahim and the Inter-Services Intelligence of Pakistan.
After today's adjournment, the House
might witness more such uproarious scenes with the Opposition NDA deciding
to bring a no-confidence motion against the Rabri Devi government tomorrow.
"We have decided to take the twin
issues of breakdown of law and order and underdevelopment by bringing a
no-confidence motion against the Rabri government," Opposition leader Sushil
Kumar Modi said.
