In a gruesome incident, militants beheaded two sons of a retired Army officer in Baramulla district of north Kashmir Thursday, official sources said.

Unidentified ultras raided the house of the retired Army captain Ghulam Mohammad Khan at Chak-e-Arsalan Khan in Bandipora area and dragged out his two sons Manzoor Ahmad Khan and Riyaz Ahma Khan.

Both the brothers were then beheaded by militants who suspected them of being informers of security forces, the sources said.

In a separate incident, militants raided Banderpora village of Pulwama district in south Kashmir Wednesday night and shot at and injured five persons for casting their votes in the recently held Parliamentary elections.

The victims identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Band, Mohammad Shaban Pader, Mohammad Amin Dar, Ghulam Qadir Padroo and Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh have been hospitalised.
