Border Security Force has lodged
a strong protest against the abduction of two of their officers by the
Bangladeshi miscreants who later handed over to the Indian authority today
morning.
Jitendra Singh Sahi and Subhash
Chandra, both assistant commandants belonging to the 46 bn BSF, were abducted
when they were visiting the Mia Para village under Bishalghar police station
bordering Bangladesh. The miscreants encircled the officers when their
identity was challenged at around 8 pm on Sunday. The miscreants abducted
them to Bangladesh and beaten both of them seriously.
Receiving the information the BSF
contacted their Bangladeshi counterpart and a flag meeting was held in
the night itself. Later, the Bangladesh Rifles rescued both the officers
and returned them today morning.
Both the officers were admitted
to the GB hospital here. Condition of Mr Sahi stated to be critical as
he sustained serious head injuries while the condition of Chandra is said
to be stable.
Meanwhile, it is suspected that
some Indian villagers also collaborated with the Bangladeshi miscreants
and the matter is being investigated, said D Gautam, SP (operation).
Mia Para is considered to be a sensitive
area as it is one of the roads the smugglers of both the countries use
to export and import various goods. It is suspected that the abduction
was pre-planned to give BSF a lesson who recently increased patrolling
in the area.
