Shakeel Ahmed Shaikh aka Lambu Shakeel,
once Dawood Ibrahim's most trusted lieutenant, is spoiling for a political
fight.
Currently out on bail in a criminal
case, Shakeel told Times News Network on Thursday that he was ready to
contest the state assembly election scheduled for October 13, but was waiting
for the green signal from his guru.
Although he did not reveal who his
guru was, a police officer said that it could be Dawood himself.
The six-footer Shakeel was with
Dawood from the early eighties when the don formed the infamous D company.
He specialised in gold smuggling from the UAE. He shifted operations to
Dubai in the early nineties.
