Irked by railway minister Laloo
Prasad's barrage of allegations against its leaders, that BJP on
Tuesday came down heavily on the RJD chief describing him as "a joker
of Congress circus" and terming his accusations as baseless and imaginary".
BJP VP and spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said at a press conference
that Laloo has resorted to " condemnable" charges against senior
BJP leader LK Advani and others only to "cover up for his sins committed
in Bihar during 15 years" of RJD rule.
He strongly denied Laloo's allegations
that Advani was involved in the demolition of the disputed structure
in Ayodhya. Laloo had leveled the charge on Sunday quoting Time magazine
and Naqvi circulated copies of the news item to claim that
there was no such mention in the report.
He also dismissed claims that Advani
had been accused of any conspiracy to assassinate Mohammed Ali Jinnah
and that Pakistan had declared him "absconder".
Naqvi circulated a news report of
March 6, '02, quoting then Pakistani high commissioner to India,
Jehangir Ashraf Qazi, in which he had denied any such case.
