A Delhi court has asked police to
register a case against Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit's daughter
Latika Dikshit Syed on a complaint filed by a city advocate accusing her
and some "policemen" of assaulting and wrongfully restraining him.
"In view of the levelled allegation,
Station House Officer of Police Station Tilak Marg is directed to register
the case and investigate the matter under section 156(3) Cr.P.C. in accordance
with the law", Metropolitan Magistrate G P Singh said in his order after
perusing the complaint filed by Advocate Akshaya Kumar Sharma.
The court also asked the SHO to
submit his status report on December 9.
Sharma alleged on August 25, while
he was going back from his office in Patiala House courts, a blue Opel
car with a Home Ministry sticker suddenly appeared in front.
The car was being driven by Latika,
he claimed.
She then asked him to back his car
but he could not do that as the traffic was heavy behind him.
Latika then stepped out of the car
and threatened him to turn back.
When he did not listen, she called
out a man seated inside the car and this person caught hold of his collar
and threatened him, he alleged.
Later, on her asking, some more
men - allegedly policemen in plain clothes - joined them and started shouting
at him, Sharma said.
The situation was defused by the
intervention of his cousin, also an advocate, who apologised for their
mistake if any, the complainant claimed.
