The Islamic cleric arrested from
Hyderabad in connection with the "ISI conspiracy case" has confessed to
his role in spreading terrorist network across the country and sending
youth for training to Bosnia and Chechnya, a senior police official said.
Maulana Nasiruddin has confessed
to his role in various anti-national activities and that Osama bin Laden
was his role model, Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) D G Vanjhara
told reporters here.
"Two of the Maulana's associates
Abdul Aziz and Mohammed Hanif were sent to Bosnia and Chechnya for terrorist
training around two years ago. One of them has been arested by Hyderabad
police", he said.
While remanded with the city crime
branch, the 54-year-old cleric also admitted that he was proud of Mohammed
Asgar Ali, the Hyderabad-based hired sharp- shooter who allegedly assasinated
former Gujarat Minister Haren Pandya. PTI
