Criticising the Centre's "weak policies"
to deal with terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, senior BJP leader L K Advani
on Sunday said there was a conspiracy to engineer the ethnic cleansing of
Hindus in the Jammu region.
"It is a well planned conspiracy to engineer
the ethnic cleansing of minority Hindus in Doda and Udhampur of the Jammu
region and create a Kashmir Valley-like situation in this area on the pattern
of (the attacks on) Kashmiri Pandits," Advani told reporters after participating
in the cremation of BJP worker Munshi Ram, who was one of the two persons
killed in a grenade attack on a party rally in Doda on Saturday.
Besides visiting Harhdoli village in Doda
this afternoon for the cremation, Advani visited those injured in Saturday's
attack at the GMC Hospital in Jammu.
Saying the militants had a "definite
game plan" to force out Hindus from Doda and Udhampur, he expressed concern
at the worsening security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and blamed the Congress-led
state and Central governments for failing to protect the minority community.
"These are definitely manifestations
of the weak policies of the state and Central governments on Kashmir. They
have failed to deal with the militants," Advani said.
The opposition would raise the issue of security
of the minorities in the Lok Sabha.
