Insanity: taking the same action over and over and over and expecting different results each time.
What did 9-11 teach me? That the American left has FAILED in protecting this country. But even after the World Trade Center bombing, even after the Khobar Towers, even after the East African Embassy Bombing, even after the USS Cole attack and yes even after the attack on 9-11, liberals continue to demand that we follow the same inaction. (Actually when I put it that way, the attacks have been escalating.) Before Sept 11, 2001 we'd been taking a soft approach to people who are hard core. Leftists world wide had been telling us that when violent Middle Easterners say they want to kill us they don't mean it. The left has been telling us that people who intentionally target civilians with suicide attacks are (somehow) victims.
The 9-11 attacks taught me that left wingers are insane. Knee-jerk liberal response to 9-11 was to whine to conservatives "Don't make this a political issue". Is it any wonder why? Despite Clinton declaring a "War on Terror" he failed to respond to attacks in any way/shape/form. Now five years later, all the left does is talk about 9-11 (and how Bush helped orchestrate it.) Any mention of a failure on their part is greeted with legal threats and harrassment: "Comparing George Bush to Hitler is a an understatement." "Comparing Democrats to Hitler appeasers before WW2 is grossly out of line." It also taught me that leftists care more about their petty causes than real threats. Drilling for our own oil supplies would cut off funding to terrorists, but since we could face environmental disaster 50 years from now we'd better just accept the real terrorist danger today.
What did 9-11 teach me? It taught me that contrary to everything the media and my college professors told me, economics is not the only reason people fight each other. Marxism teaches that religion is the "opiate of the masses" making them complacant to their lot in life. Obviously, radical Muslims are far from that, seeing their religion as a license to destroy. Of course this doesn't mean Marxism is wrong, it just means that most Americans are too ignorant to try to hammer Islamistofacists into Marxist theory. Instead we should be seeing them instead as victims of western racist, sexist and homophobia.
What did 9-11 teach me? It made me look at the Middle East - really look at it. For once I saw what the radical Islamists were doing - not just to Israel, but also to India (another nation that suffered under Western imperialism.) It made me wonder, if this isn't a religious struggle on the part of the enemy why do they kill innocent Hindus? Why do they blow up Holy Hindu sites and kill innocent Hindu Holy men.
What did 9-11 teach me? It taught me to be ashamed of the American left. Patriots over there are willing to strap bombs around their waists in an attempt to kill innocent people. Left wing "Patriots" over here would rather flee to Canada than even speak harshly to our enemy. Patriots over there believe in their cause. Left wing "Patriots" over here stimy our efforts in an attempt to take political power. Patriots over there condemn the United States as a greedy and decadent power. Left wing "Patriots" over here can't run to microphones fast enough to agree. Patriots over there won't show the pictures of (or even talk about) the attrocities committed by the enemy. Left wing "Patriots" over here won't show the pictures of (or even talk about) the attrocities committed by the enemy.
What did 9-11 teach me? It taught me that liberals don't learn - ever. And they want to call me stupid and ignorant....
