After living in hiding for four months, controversial
Bangladeshi author, Taslima Nasreen is heading to Sweden. The author tells
TIMES NOW that she's been forced to leave India. Though the whispers are that
the controversial Bangladeshi author is going to Sweden for a medical check-up.
Taslima Nasreen has been living at an undisclosed
location in Delhi since November 2007. The government provided security to
the controversial author facing the ire of the Muslim fundamentalists after
she faced violent protests in Kolkata last year. The protests were so trenchant
that military had to be called out onto the streets of Kolkata.
The radical Islamists had demanded that Taslima
be asked to leave India for hurting Muslim sentiments through her writings.
Taslima had to be shifted out of West Bengal,
since then she has been kept in virtual confinement under the watch of the
Indian government.
