The BJP has planned a nationwide "Jail
Bharo" programme from August 11 to 13 to protest the appeasement attitude
of the authorities with their "total surrender" before separatist
and fundamentalist elements by revoking the land allocated to Shri Amarnath
Shrine Board(SASB) in the Kashmir valley.
BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said
the Centre and the Jammu and Kashmir Government did not mind insulting the
faith, beliefs and sentiments of crores of people in the country but did not
hesitate in surrendering before a handful of separatist and fundamentalist
elements.
"The nation feels agitated and the BJP
is only giving vent for the people to express their anguish by participating
in peaceful "Jail Bharo" programme across the country and to express
solidarity with the people of Jammu that the nation was with them," he
said.
Mr Naqvi said it was atrocious on the part
of the government to pander to the sentiments of separatist elements by cancelling
the 100 acres of land allocated to SASB that too for creating temporary pilgrim
infrastructure. It was strange that the protestors with a cause were treated
as terrorists while separatists were treated as protestors by the government,
he added.
He said the demonstrations and rallies would
be held before Raj Bhavans across the state capitals and Union Territories
of the country where prominent BJP leaders, MPs, MLAs and representatives
of people both at the Central and state levels will court arrest.
There would be protests in prominent district
towns also organised by the party.
Mr Naqvi the protests will take place even
in BJP and NDA ruled states and the party had exempted Chief Ministers and
Ministers from participating in the agitation. (UNI)
