Communist Party of India (Marxist) district
secretary P. Sasi has accused the National Development Front (NDF) of attempting
to use mosques for keeping weapons.
Mr. Sasi said at a press conference here on
Wednesday that the NDF was trying to use mosques to expand its activities.
Referring to incidents of clashes between CPI(M) and NDF activists at Pappinissery
here, he alleged that the NDF was giving arms training to its members. The
recent killing of U.K. Saleem at Ossanmotta, near Thalassery, proved that
the NDF was working as a killer group, he added. Comparing the NDF with the
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, he said both the outfits were misusing places
of worship. The NDF was giving arms training to its cadres to arrest Muslim
youths from joining the CPI(M), Mr. Sasi said.
