The State unit of the BJP today alleged that Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi was involved in anti-national activities by helping foreign nationals to obtain forged papers to stay in Assam and he should be punished for that. In a release here today, the BJP said that the recent orders of the Gauhati High Court exposed the fact that Bangladeshi nationals managed to obtain forged documents to stay in Assam and even contest in elections because of the help that they are receiving from the Congress Government. The party said that the Congress Government headed by Tarun Gogoi compromised with the security of the nation in the interest of securing its vote bank, which is an unpardonable crime.

The BJP dared the Chief Minister to institute a probe by a sitting judge of the Gauhati High Court to expose the game plan of the Bangladeshi nationals to obtain forged documents and alleged that the Congress was ready to compromise with the security of the nation just to stay in power.

The BJP further alleged that the Chief Minister, who failed to give a definition of indigenous people of Assam for constitutional protection under the provisions of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord, would never work in the interests of the indigenous people.
The BJP pointed out that the population of Bangladesh has come down over the years, while the population of Assam has been increasing, which proved beyond doubt that Bangladeshi nationals are still pouring into the State. The party also announced that it would never compromise on the threat posed to the identity of the indigenous people by unabated infiltration of foreign nationals and would organise the indigenous people to thwart the threat.
