Surat Police Commissioner R M S Brar has said
that there was major local involvement in the Surat bombs.
Twenty-six bombs have so far been defused
in the past few days in Surat. The top cop also admitted that there had been
an intelligence failure.
Another bomb was found in Ankleshwar, 50 km
from Surat on Thursday morning. Now, total of 26 bombs have been found and
defused in the past few days.
In fact, the entire country is on the edge
following the devastating serial bomb blasts.
In Kolkata, police got two weeks custody of
Kaushik Basu, the son of a cyber cafe owner who was arrested after an e-mail
threatening terror attacks in the city was traced to him.
Kolkata: Kaushik Basu is in custody till August
13. Police have said that Basu will help identify people who sent email.
Rajasthan: One more crude bomb found. Four crude bombs found since Wednesday.
Delhi: Lt Governor Tejinder Khanna asked for repair and activation all CCTVs.
The deadly serial blasts in two consecutive days have put the country on the
edge.
One crude bomb was found at Marwar junction,
in Pali in Rajasthan. Four crude bombs have been found in the state since
Tuesday. All bombs have been defused.
Reviewing the security situation in the capital,
the Lt Governor of Delhi Tejinder Khanna told all security agencies to repair
and activate CCTVs installed in various public place like malls, cinema halls
and high rises. He met top police officials and local MPs on Thursday morning.
Gujarat's home minister has said there's a
pattern to the bombings in Ahmedabad and those that have taken place across
other Indian cities.
