As political parties continue to make charges
and counter-charges on the issue of terrorism, BJP national vice-president
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in a statement has said that many political parties and
politicians are trying to provide "secularism" as a security cover
to terrorism. And thus convert terrorism into a "secular civil war"
to serve their vested political interests.
According to Mr Naqvi, a few political parties
and politicians are publicly trying to prove that terrorist organisations
are innocent. He added, "The open support to terrorists and terrorist
organisations by some political parties and politicians has become a great
threat to the nation and is also creating a feeling of insecurity in the minds
of ordinary Muslims," he said.
He said that the attempt by certain political
parties and their leaders to offer "secularism" as a security cover
was proving to be harmful not only to the nation but also to Indian Muslims.
"These parties and politicians who are
supporting terrorism and terrorists have become a part of the conspiracy to
divide the nation once again on the basis of religion," Mr Naqvi added.
The BJP leader maintained that the "dangerous
designs" of the Congress, the Samajwadi Party, the Left and other pseudo-secular
parties would "deprive the Indian Muslims of their true nationalist nature
and disturb the social fabric of the nation."
Mr Naqvi maintained that terrorists should
be identified on the basis of their acts and not on the basis of their religion.
