Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi paid
a surprise visit to a Dalit household in Medhki village in Mauranipur area
of the district and took feed back on MGNREGA and other schemes from Bhadarwara
villagers.
Gandhi made an unscheduled visit to Medhki
late last night and enquired about the problems relating to water, power and
fertilisers from the villagers.
Rahul spent some time with a Dalit family
in the area and during a 'chaupal' (meeting), told the locals about the central
government's schemes, Congress sources said.
Gandhi had his dinner of "puri-subzi"
prepared by Arti, daughter-in-law of Kunnjilal, a Dalit. He later left the
area after distributing toffees among the children.
Earlier in the day, to feel the pulse of
youths in the economically backward region of Bundelkhand during a camp organised
by the Youth Congress here, Gandhi had a detailed interaction for around two
and a half hours with the youths on various important issues during Yuva Drishti
training camp of the youth wing.
Rahul visited Bhadarwara village this morning
and took feed back on MGNREGA and other schemes from the villagers.
No senior Congress leader or party functionary
accompanied Rahul on his mass contact programme in the district.
