Pakistan’s Minister of Human Rights has written to the United Nations accusing India of carrying out human rights violations in Jammu and Kashmir.

Shireen Mazari @ShireenMazari1
My detailed letter to 18 UN Special Procedures mandate-holders on violations of international human rights law by the Government of India in IOK.

Shireen Mazari is the same person who wrote to the UNICEF and whined to remove Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra as goodwill ambassador in wake of her ‘Jai Hind’ tweet after the Balakot Air Strikes. UNICEF, obviously, told Pakistan Priyanka Chopra is free to have her views and opinions.
Now, again in her letter to the UN, Mazari has quoted former Congress President Rahul Gandhi to back up her claims of human rights violation.

* These, and other, acts of violence have even been acknowledged by mainstream politicians, such as the Leader of the Congress Party. Mr. Rahul Gandhi Who has noted "people dying" in Jammu & Kashmir, in light of events "going very Wrong there'.

She mentions that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has also ‘noted’ that “people dying” in Jammu & Kashmir, in light of events “going very wrong here”. On 25th August, a day after Rahul Gandhi led a delegation of opposition leaders he had posted a video on Twitter where he is arguing with the security personnel at the Srinagar Airport for not being allowed as there are still certain restrictions in place to avoid any eventuality.

Rahul Gandhi @RahulGandhi
It's been 20 days since the people of Jammu & Kashmir had their freedom & civil liberties curtailed. Leaders of the Opposition & the Press got a taste of the draconian administration & brute force unleashed on the people of J&K when we tried to visit Srinagar yesterday.

He had said that it had been 20 days since people of Jammu & Kashmir “had their freedom and civil liberties curtailed”. He could be heard speaking to the security forces that he would like to go to ‘any area which is peaceful’ and had concluded his video by saying that “it is very clear that things are not normal in Jammu & Kashmir.”
Shireen Mazari also cites the CPIML’s Kavita Krishnan and her gang of hyper activists including Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s former close aide Jean Dreze who had claimed they visited Kashmir between August 9 to 13 and referred to on-ground situation as ‘occupied Iran or occupied Palestine’. In a major embarrassment to the anti-India forces within the country, the Press Club of India had refused to allow screening of the video footage they claimed to have made in Kashmir. The Press Club of India had not allowed screening on grounds that there was no way to verify the authenticity of the footage and banned their propaganda. Now, that unverifiable claims propagated by Kavita Krishnan and other hyper activists is being used by Pakistan to further their anti-India agenda.

The Indian Cultural Forum undertook a fact-finding visit to Occupied Jammu & Kashmir between 9 and 13 August 2019, highlighting inter alia serious shortages of food, medicines and other basic necessities. Their fact-finding report also illustrates the specific targeting of peaceful civilians with pellet guns. One such case highlighted by the Forum includes the attack against Mr. Samir Ahmed, a graphic designer for the newspaper -Rising Kashmir", on 6 August 2019. He reportedly received 172 pellet injuries.

This is not the first time Pakistan has used the opposition in India to target India. A video of a debate being held on Pakistani news channel had gone viral on social media few days back where Mushahid Hussain, a Pakistani politician, journalist and geo-strategist, revealed that people like writer Arundhati Roy, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and political parties like the Congress were “sympathisers” of Pakistan, who can be helpful for the cause of Pakistan.
Pakistan had also blamed Rahul Gandhi for losing the elections and allowing PM Modi to assume power which led to abrogation of Article 370. Later, taking cue from Congress, Pakistan even raked up the Rafale bogey which was peddled by Congress ahead of 2019 general elections. |
