The prolonged struggle for Ram Mandir has now come to its most important stage. On the 5th of August, the Foundation will be laid down for the Temple. This is not just about Ram Mandir, this also paves way for the many positive episodes Ayodhya is about to unveil in the coming future.

The foundation is being laid down for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and the birth place of Lord Ram in being prepped in all aspects. On August 5, 2020, during the Abhijeet Muhurtam after Madhyaan between 12:30 PM and 12:40 PM, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the brick of the foundation of the temple. The immense struggle and patience of Devotees of Lord Ram has ended after almost five Centuries. The construction of Ram Mandir will denote a new beginning which will open a way, not just for faith, but also for growth and development. There was a major movement for the establishment of Ram Mandir on Ramjanmabhoomi and this is the moment of joy, pride and celebration for all those who devoted their life towards the emancipation of Ram Mandir. In fact, we can call it as one of the major events in the history of India because Lord Ram is not only associated with Faith, but also to Harmony and Compassion, which is why this event also depicts Social Equanimity. After almost five Centuries of struggle, this construction depicts the essence of Indian Culture and Heritage.

The Struggle from the British Raj

On this occasion of the establishment of Ramjanmabhoomi Temple, it is important to remember the names of Bhramaleen Gorakshapeethadheeshvar Mahanta Shri Digvijaynathji Maharaj and Bhramaleen Gorakshapeethadheeshvar Mahanta Shri Avedyanathji Maharaj. The struggle for the Ayodhya Temple was since the British Raj and Mahanta Shri Digvijaynathji Maharaj extended his voice for the justice for the devotees of Lord Ram. During 1934-1949, he continued to struggle for the construction of the temple. On 23/23 December 1949, when Lord Ram appeared on the Land of the temple, the then Gorakshapeethadheeshvar, Mahanta Shri Digvijaynathji Maharaj was performing kirtan with the saints. After his demise on 28 September 1969, his disciple Mahanta shri Avedyanathji Maharaj made it his life’s purpose to bring to justice his guru’s struggle which started a new movement. Under the august guidance of RSS, leadership of the saints of the temple, and the initiative of Vishwa Hindu Parishad this is the largest cultural movement which has affected various political aspects of our nation.

When Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Mukti Yadnya Samiti was established in Valmiki Bhavan, Ayodhya on 21 July 1984, Gorakshapeethadheeshvar Mahanta Shri Avedyanathji Maharaj was unanimously elected as its President and is still serving as the President of Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Mukti Yadnya Samiti. This movement faced numerous hurdles on its way. Due to differences in opinion on Social and Political grounds, the pace of the movement was hampered.

In 1989, Shri Avedyanathji Maharaj and Sant Paramhauns Ramchandra Dasji Maharaj performed a symbolic Bhoomi Pujan. With this initiative and with the help of Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Shri Ashok Singhal, the first brick was laid down by Shri Kameshwar Chaupal, who is presently a member of the Ramjanmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust.

The struggle for Ramjanmabhoomi was long and strenuous, and the victory of Truth and Justice should be celebrated with joy and happiness and let go of the bitter memories from the past. This victory symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter and the establishment of social harmony.

Viewing this challenge, we should productively participate in this occasion by staying in our homes, this day should be marked as the day of Love and Harmony.
