Yesterday, during a naka checking, Assam police recovered a huge amount of explosives. The explosives were taken to Meghalaya in a pick up car. Police arrested Jahrul Islam(32).

According to sources, Police posted in road of Rani village under Kamrup rural district stopped a Bolero vehicle. During search, huge amount of explosives and detonators were found in several jute bags. Immediately police detained the driver and brought him to police station.

Police said, a total of 2800 gelatin sticks and 1500 electronic detonators were recovered. Also, police seized the Bolero pick up vehicle. Police also trying to identify the owner of the car.

During interrogation, arrested Jahrul Islam said that he was taking these explosives to Meghalaya. But from where he got the explosives, is not known yet. Police said, he will be taken into custody and will try to know if he is involved with any terror outfit in the state.
