An idol of Hanuman Swamy has been found where Dargah-e-Hakimi stands in Burhanpur. The authorities of the mosque closed the way to the dargah when the locals came demanding to allow to worship.

Hindu organizations and locals say that a farm owned by the Dargah-e-Hakimi in Lodhipura, Burhanpur, previously housed a temple and a land deal was made with the dargah with a promise to protect it. But the dargah authorities did not keep their word.

Then the people of the temple trust held talks with MLA Sumitra Kasdekar near the farm in recent days to resolve the ongoing dispute between the Dargah-i-Hakimi and the Icheswara Temple Trust. Locals said that there was an ancient Shiva temple here.

Meanwhile, the idol of Hanuman Swamy was found on the Dargah ground the other day. This strengthens the arguments of the temple trust, the Hindu organization and the people. The mosque authorities closed the way to the farm after people came forward with the demand to worship the idol.

With this, the locals protested in front of the dargah over the Hanuman Chalisa and broke the lock and performed idol worship. The police said that further investigation will be conducted in connection with the incident.
