RTI response reveals that PM Modi has never used the government's purse to pay for his medical treatment. A Pune-based activist filed the RTI query and urged other politicians to follow the PM's example.

Narendra Modi is one of the most followed leaders in the world today. However, with his many national and international visits, his medical care has not cost the exchequer a single rupee since he assumed the Prime Minister's office in May 2014.

This was revealed in a reply by the Prime Minister's Office to an RTI application filed by a Pune-based RTI activist Prafful Sarda. The reply states that there is no health expense spent on the Prime Minister maintained by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

Members of Parliament (MPs) and Union ministers are provided with numerous amenities, although the Prime Minister of the country is not among them. According to an RTI response, Prime Minister Modi pays all his medical expenses and not a single rupee is spent on it from the government's purses.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has provided this information on the question asked through RTI. The Prime Minister's Office Secretary, Binod Bihari Singh, responded to the RTI stating that not even one Rupee of the government budget is used to pay for the PM's personal medical treatment.

"As per records available with this office, no expenditure has been incurred on the personal medical treatment of the PM, Shri Narendra Modi," the RTI response said.

PMO clarified: "NO expenditure has been incurred from 2014 till date” in India and abroad.

"PM Modi ji did not only send out a strong message through Fit India movement but he is motivating 135 crore Indians to stay fit by setting an example himself," activist Prafful Sarda said.

"The money of taxpayers is not being used for any personal work of PMO; this boosts our faith in governance. MPs and MLAs should also follow the same path by bearing their personal medical expenses on own if any," he said.
